Synopsis

"One Empress; two Uncles; a series of misunderstandings."

Welcome to Monsilys, capital of an Empire racked by intrigue, facing invasion from abroad and treason from within. When Emperor Dolmus died well before his time, he left behind two daughters, Adrienne and Adelais. Just short of her twentieth birthday, Adrienne became Empress of Jovan.

The Empress Adrienne quickly recalled her father’s two younger brothers to provide her with advice and support: Valentin, politician and diplomat; and Cassius, a commander in the army.

What she didn’t anticipate when she recalled them to Monsilys was just how bored they would get.

A Frequent Traveller’s Guide to Jovan chronicles the adventures of Valentin and Cassius, whose misbehaviour gets them banished to a different corner of the Empire every week. Along the way they face traitors, tyrants, bandits, femmes fatale and—occasionally—manage to save the day.
