I am completely, utterly, head over heels in love with this story. The main characters (Regan and Ira) are flawed, imperfect, and beautiful. They are the perfect example of the phrase "love conquers all." If a vampire hunter falling for a vampire doesn’t prove that love can conquer anything than I don’t know what does. Your vampire lore is new and fresh (unlike some stories that reuse that overdone myths). The story had the perfect balance of romance, humor, and angst creating a perfect formula for a perfect story. Awesome writing and I can’t wait for the sequel!
p.s. I think Regan is the ULTIMATE bossy bottom lol.

I stumbled upon this story like I do many things, completely by accident, and even the short teaser description had me hooked. The characters are creative and even how the author has handled vampires as a whole is unique. I was quite surprised by the depth of emotions in all of the characters, good or bad. I very much enjoyed reading it, managing the lot in one sitting(a very long one involving lots of coffee) and I am still craving more. If you like vampire stories with a smattering of really hot scenes thrown in, this is for you.

I love this story. Its got great characters, great plot, and great sex! I can’t wait for the next part to come out, and in the meantime, the side stories (HOWL particularly) are awesome. I’d recommend this story to anyone who loves vampires, hunters, action, and hot sex scenes! …and well, that really says it all and now I’m just filling space because this place requires at least 100 words. But really, if you need 100 words to sum up how awesome a story is, then it can’t be that great a story. You know, they say people who read reviews are hooked within the first 20 words.

I have this small problem with promoting Dead Boyfriend. Nothing to do with the writing, strong story arcs, well defined and developing characters, lots of interesting opportunities for side stories, it’s just…how does a hetero 40-something mother promote a vampire/ teen hunter gay romance with violence? Head shaking here.
Seriously, this hits all the buttons for me - the occasional blindingly fast change of direction, the struggle to start/keep/develop a relationship in the face of ‘life happening’, conflicted characters that are still strong even when faced with confronting situations, and a rich background world to play in. I love it, unreservedly.

I love this story. It’s got everything a good story needs. Star-crossed lovers, evil ex-girlfriends, and ... PIE! Not to mention the great sex scenes and angsty-ness. This is a must read for anyone that loves a good story. The characters are interesting and the plot is thickening. You have to read this, if only because Regan is simply the best character ever. I really don’t know what else to say about it. It’s an awesome story, updated regularly, and I must say Monday’s and Saturday’s have me checking my email often for an update. You’ll really regret it if you don’t take the time to read this awesome story.

When I first stumbled across this online novel, I was thinking, "ok, probably not going to do anything for me, but I proved myself wrong." I immediately fell in love with it. It is very well written, extremely intriguing, and always leaves you wanting more.
From the playful banter between the group of main characters to the fight scenes between the inconspicuous character and the main character, everything is well thought out and flows smoothly as you are reading.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who was looking for a good read.
My only gripe about the story is that the day for updates never seems to come quite fast enough to quench my thirst.

I decided to give Dead Boyfriend a try based on a chapter the author wrote for another serial web story: Tales of MU. Writing someone else’s characters is never easy, but this author had a light, deft touch that left me delighted with the short, clever story he’d written for ToMU.
I was even more pleased with Dead Boyfriend, I’m happy to say. The protagonist is clever, witty, and good at what he does—and yet he still has some depth and pathos, neatly avoiding the MarySue problem. The dialogue is crisp and flows smoothly. The occasional humor arises naturally out of the story’s circumstances, the sex scenes curl your toes delightfully, and the monsters are truly horrific.
Currently my only quibble with the story is that I want more, and faster (ahem, no innuendo intended)! The most recent cliffhanger was a doozy, and knowing I’d have to wait until the next Monday for a conclusion had me ready to pull my hair. ;)

I’ll be honest. I usually hate ongoing internet fiction. (Which is sad, because I’ve got a project going…) But Dead BF…
It’s well written, descriptive, and the dialogue is engaging. There isn’t a huge problem with believability, which I usually find with other online series.
Not only are the characters original, they’re engaging! I WANT to know what’s going to happen to Regan. I wonder about Ira’s past. I’ve found myself a little place in their world as a spectator.
The sense of community on the site is simply fantastic, as well. We discuss the plot together, along with other, inconsequential things. It’s a home for all of us in desperate need of a distraction (especially from homework).
I can’t believe that I accidently stumbled upon this reading while looking for a free online book to read during my lunch breaks! Captivated almost immediately by wanting to know more about Reagan but then totally falling into the character of Ira has left me continually wanting more. If you are looking for something with suspense, violence, sex…the whole works—this is the story for you! I have read many vampyre novels and side stories (yes, Twilight included) but this one takes the top of the cake. I can’t wait for book 2 and feel a loss at the end of the story. Seth was able to provide the need for wanting more weekly which is a feat in itself.
Seth has the creativity to go far in this world.

You know, online fiction usually isn’t my thing. I mean, online fiction usually isn’t that great, and its never updated. But Dead Boyfriend is well written and interesting, and updated regularly. I really enjoy reading it and I check my email every Monday and Saturday for updates.
The characters have depth and personality. The story is detailed and the plot moves forward at a steady pace. And the side stories are a real treat. I look forward to reading Dead Boyfriend each week. I hope others will find Dead Boyfriend and enjoy it as much as I do. Seth is a genius. Really.
