Well worth the read.

So far I’ve read to part 36, and I’m quite pleased.  Admittedly, the start was a bit rocky, and I almost put it down because of that, but I’m very glad I didn’t!  After the first few installments, everything just gels and the story gains some focus and clarity.  It becomes an intricate tale that for the most part seamlessly weaves past and present together in a fantastic web.

I have a feeling that when I have finished catching up on the archives, I’m going to have to re-read them in order to see all the intricacies that RoYds has to offer.  And that is not a bad thing. :)

A slow chill, so close to the reality we know.

By NiSp

We are whipped back and forth through time in this often gripping tale. ‘Chilling’ would be another appropriate word.

The characters are clear and each one’s history is revealed in blinding flashes at intense moments in their lives. For all this action, I never found myself lost and there are just enough slower scenes to allow me to catch my breath.

I found myself hating one character so intensely that I had to stop reading. Not for long though, I had to find out what happened next.

Each scene is well-crafted with many lovely descriptions (some may say it verges on purple prose in places, but that didn’t phase me too much) and dreadful cliff-hangers - in the good, nail-biting way. :D

At almost 70 chapters so far, it gives a new reader much to get their teeth into, yet its still giving old readers the aching question: what happens next?

It’s creepy and chilling, fast-paced and intricate, well researched and laid out - but best of all, it is well written. I look forward to each new post.
