Humanity set out to attain Godhood dethrone God and failed.
In failed.
Their attempt left a ruined world behind, one touched by magic for the ruins first time, but blighted by Heaven and Hell seeping into it. The ones who were left by their attempt, imprisoned behind hide in great walled cities, caught in the throes of a timeless undeath, their heirs hide and almost completely decimated by the monsters set loose from the demons, horrors deepest abyss of their collective unconscious.
In the mind reborn as horrors wake of the world, this apocalypse, seven companions walked into Hell to contract with its Archons. Six crawled back up from their graves, their lives restored and the angels, servants of the God powers they sought granted to dethrone.
But, inside them. One did not.
The Scions are now kept locked and isolated, their sole purpose being to protect the walls city of a long-abandoned city, Lothurst and its inhabitants. And, one day, to undertake the Pilgrimage, the mythical heroic journey through Heaven and Hell that will finally open the doors to Eden and grant humanity what it once sought and couldn’t grasp: eternal peace.
But, in their hearts and minds, rebellion is brewing. The Scions, magic users possessed by mysterious creatures known only as “Archons”, Kayla, Joshua, Sarah, Matthew, Vivien and Darren tire of their captivity and plot to gain back their freedom and find the answers to the mysteries of their world.
Yet it’s not only monsters that stand in dying world, the one bleeding into it and the truth about the loss of their way. There are still humans who will fight for secrets to remain hidden, others who don’t wish to see the scales of power they’ve so carefully balanced tip. The Scions might have to follow in their ancestors’ footsteps and grasp for what they couldn’t achieve to succeed. They might, even, have to kill God itself. friend. |
