Not knowing their next move, they plot their next move from a bed and breakfast in the city of Mayfield, VA. But events soon unfold that show that it isn't just Tome that they must protect the innocent from.

The series expands from there, fleshing out into what the author calls 'a comic book universe in prose' with spin-offs, miniseries and an ever increasing roster of new heroes, villains and supporting cast members both in the main title and numerous independent satellite series set in the same universe.
