Synopsis

"The complicated lives of a group of professionals"

‘Debates of Hales’ follows the complicated lives of a group of professionals who meet weekly at political debate evenings. Private members club Hales House is the setting for the lively discussions, which were set up by the club’s owner Melinda Brierley as a networking opportunity for politically aware local business people.

Melinda is mourning the recent loss of her parents whilst attempting to come to terms with her 18 year old daughter’s pregnancy and dealing with conflicting emotions over the surprise arrival of Grant, the older brother her parents gave up for adoption.

Andrew is a lawyer with serious ambitions to be a politician, and Stella is a PR consultant struggling to cope with life and pining for a family set up. Their lives are intertwined and their opinions are shaped by what the world has thrown at them.

The Hertfordshire town of Hales is never short on drama.
