Synopsis

"A young adult fantasy story where a boy is sent off to an eerie boarding school."

Michael Mort flops his exams and fails to get back into school. Things take a turn when he’s visited by an uncle he barely remembers, who reveals two things to him; monsters exist, and so do modern knights.

It’s the knights’ job to protect people using enchanted bullets and magic script. Before he knows it, Michael is whisked off to an eerie boarding school to undergo an induction.

The time will soon come for him to make a tough decision — return home to live a safe and sheltered life, or remain at the school and take the dangerous path toward becoming a modern knight.

The latter might just be the death of him.

"falls prey to common writing problems"

The website’s layout makes reading a bit hard on the eyes, and the prose fails to follow some of the basic rules of writing, particularly in regards to dialog tags (which aren’t capitalized properly, among other things) and exclamation marks (which are overused, giving the writing an over-the-top sort of feel that doesn’t work in the context of the storyline).
